I recently had the pleasure of being the artist in residence at the inaugural Pokolbin Pride, which is the first LGBTI festival to be held in the Hunter Valley region. Over five days in late October, almost 600 people indulged upon the delicious fine wines and flavours of the Hunter, as well as coming together at various parties and exhibitions to celebrate what makes our community unique.
It was an absolute honour to exhibit my art at Tamburlaine Organic Wines. They accommodated me in their stunning wedding reception venue overlooking their lush vineyards and pretty lake, which was a beautiful backdrop to the body of work I brought down from Brisbane.
A huge shout-out to my selfless parents who helped make the transportation of these pieces a reality. I couldn’t have done this without you.
A big thank you also to all who visited! It was so great to be involved in something so inclusive and accessible to the broader LGBTI community, especially in such a regional setting. Congratulations to Matty Kerr and Jimmy Wright for pulling together such a fantastic event. Be sure to check out next year’s!
